I want to be the bridge to the next generation.
Michael Jordan
Each generation has unique differences based on common experiences. All persons have the same qualitative make-up; we are born equal in this respect, as recognized in the values of ‘Liberty, Fraternity, Equality.’ All human beings have the same reflexes, instincts, drives, needs, capacities, and rights; all have the same powers of perception, discrimination, attentiveness, retentiveness, reasoning, and so forth.
Each generation develops values based on events that happened while they were growing up. These experiences include their parents’ teachings and exposures to technology.
Today’s kids are smarter than us because they get exposure to technology at a very early age. They start searching things and new ideas, in fact, they are very much updated as well and are aware of all the latest news.
Parents and teachers need to be smart enough to walk along with them. Every generation of parents tries to do it better.
Today’s smart kids are the offspring of late-generation, kids who had their self-esteem fluffed like throw pillows and got trophies just for showing up. Our kids are totally different, right?
It’s not the generation that changes it depends on exposure, that brings huge differences and we think that they were born to be like that, no we are wrong, it is not the case, it all depends on environment and parents’ teachers’ guidance.
Technology is playing a great role in today’s children’s lives but yet it is in our hands, how we give them to explore and when.
Each new generation is reared by its predecessor; the latter must therefore, improve in order to improve its successor. The movement is circular.
Emile Durkheim
