Most children love playing with dough, which is one of the best activities when your children squish, pinch, roll, and squeeze, it helps them to strengthen all the muscles in the fingers and hands.
You can give wet sponges to your children, and ask them to squeeze,
allow them to hold their small bags themselves.
Sand play activities can be really useful too, for your young kids. Take them on field trips or make an area in your garden with sand, play with them every evening, build a castle and different shapes, tell them what you are building it will improve their griping as well as vocabulary.
Give them a whiteboard, with marker allow them to write or draw, as the board marker is thicker, it can also help your child developing gripping skills.
Hand dominance fully develops at around age 4-5 years so make sure they get the opportunity to strengthen both sides of their hands.
Hold your child’s hand initially, for the support and encouragement, when they start feeling comfortable then let them do the given tasks themselves.
