“If you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.”
― Will Smith
In this time of crisis, we all must show our humanity to help all our brothers and their families. There are many faces who are still smiling to warmth others’ cold world, but in real those faces too are facing the most difficult time.
The number of unemployed persons increased by 22% over the previous year. Around 1 million people work in the areas most affected by the quarantine. In fact, according to one recent report around 18 million Pakistanis could lose their jobs in the country due to ongoing lockdown enforced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. In this difficult time the ones, who are getting their salaries and are still able to maintain their daily expenditure should thank Allah, and help the ones who are going through a difficult time. Avoid stopping the salaries of the people who were working for us like our maids, servants, drivers, or any other service provider.
Most of our brothers are waiting for an act of kindness. Even if a few of us can manage to make packets of food and distribute without show off and selfies, then we can surely safe many lives. Observe carefully, some people avoid asking for help but they need it the most. Corona virus is not only a problem today, but there many other things too.
“A man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears.” (Abu Hurairah & collected in Saheeh al-Bukhari (English trans.) vol.1, p.356, no.629 & Saheeh Muslim (English trans.) vol.2, p.493, no.2248)”
It is an opportunity for all us to show humanity and earn maximum rewards by Allah. There are many kind-hearted people who are helping others greatly, while some of us are still thinking that when services haven’t been provided then what is the purpose of releasing the amounts? anyways, it is not the choice of the service providers. In fact, nobody was having a plan to deal with such a difficult situation in life. It is a test from Allah and we must appear for it smartly.
“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
― Charles Dickens
Instead of saying a big “NO” to the people who ask for help we can donate small amounts at least. Avoid judging people. Avoid finding the real beggar or the fake beggars just help them because, Allah sees our intentions more than expansions. “Quarantine is also a time to think and upgrade our versions of kindness.”_ DHS
