Happy Mother’s Day, today is a day (one of many) to celebrate the incredible influence moms have all around the world and remind all Mamas just how amazing we think they are.
It goes without saying that being a mother is one of the toughest, most rewarding jobs out there.
But one day isn’t enough to show our gratitude for all their hard work and sacrifices to make us happy, safe, and well. They do so much for us, and sometimes, we don’t even realize that. So the least we can do is honor them whenever we get the chance.
A mother’s love is like nothing else in the world.
It’s both strong and gentle.
Loud and quiet.
Unrelenting and yielding.
Protecting and releasing.
Demanding and unassuming.
It’s one thing in one moment, and another in the next moment. It changes with a child’s needs but is always there. Unmoving.
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet ﷺ said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet ﷺ said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet ﷺ said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet ﷺ said: Then your father.
(Bukhari, Muslim).
Most of us kids take our mothers for granted. Our mothers are the guiding force of the family and the ones that glue us all together they work hard to never let the family un-stick and keep the love and the chat flowing. Mum juggles all our different personalities and ducks and weaves to keep us happy, always putting our happiness before hers.
Mums are amazing, aren’t they? Who else would do your washing, cook you delicious Sunday dinners, pick you up every time you fall, be a constant shoulder to cry on, and still fuss and worry about you long after you’ve grown up and left home?
For all of you lucky enough to be with your mother on mother’s day, look after her, cherish her and remember all the little sacrifices our mums have made for us throughout the years.
To every MAMA who spent the night awake by her sick child, nursing them and taking care of them. To every MAMA who always worries about their family’s safety other than their own. To every MAMA doing the best they can to please their children, whether by making them their favorite food or planning the best next vacation.
To every AMMI who worked extra hours to provide everything for her children so they wouldn’t miss a thing, not even the smallest ones. To every AMMI supporting their children in every decision, they make and encourage them to be the best version of themselves every day.
To every MOMMY who raised a child alone, or children who aren’t of her own.
To every AMMA who became one without a baby.
To every MOM who left us, but still resides in our hearts.
You are the light that guides us through the darkness. You are the love that fills our hearts and keeps us moving. You are the beauty that the world needs.
No matter what happens, and no matter what troubles we face, your smile is what helps us get through the day. We would do anything to protect it and cherish you. We love you and appreciate everything you’ve done for us.
You simply deserve all that’s beautiful in life!
Happy Mother’s Day!!
