Are you a student, who has many assignments, tests and presentations to prepared?
If yes, then this blog is specifically for you!
Like anybody else, you also want your social life, but long assignments, and lengthy chapters aren’t letting you enjoy your life.
Well, it is not a difficult task, it is the right time to change your strategy.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could study smarter, get good grades, and lead a balanced life? Here you need to understand one thing that there is a huge difference between studying harder and studying smarter, when you study smarter you can easily cover all your chapters for the test within a day too, but when you try to study harder even 365 days are less for that.
So, here I am going to share some outstanding ways to study smarter;
1-Learn the same information from different resources.
You can just google your main topics, read the information given on different websites, read some other books to it will help you understand, in detail.
You can also,
Read the class notes
Read the textbook
Watch a video
Look up other online resources
Create a mind map
Teach someone what you’ve learned
Do practice problems from a variety of sources
“The research (Willis, J. 2008) shows that different media stimulate different parts of the brain. The more areas of the brain that are activated, the more likely it is that you’ll understand and retain the information”
“It’s more effective to study multiple subjects each day, than to deep-dive into one or two subjects (Rohrer, D. 2012).”
By studying multiple subjects you will be able to feel content, and it is the requirement of your brain too, when different condition or situations are give so brain works faster and smarter.
Keep on revising the information with some break, it shouldn’t be consecutive at all, enjoy your social life too, it is also essential to activate your brain, and make it able to work even faster.
I am sharing a revision planned below, which can be really helpful for smart learning:
1st review: 1 day after learning the new information
2nd review: 3 days after the 1st review
3rd review: 7 days after the 2nd review
4th review: 21 days after the 3rd review
5th review: 30 days after the 4th review
6th review: 45 days after the 5th review
7th review: 60 days after the 6th review
Compress the information.
Avoid learning word to word long paragraphs, just read and summarize, remember the key points and explain them in your own words, but vocabulary should be improved.
If you are still worried about your test, assignments or presentation, then do a page of free writing just write whatever you feel about your exam, or anything else. Now, you can feel a huge difference and peace.
“In one experiment, researchers at the University of Chicago discovered that students who wrote about their feelings about an upcoming exam for 10 minutes performed better than students who didn’t. The researchers say that this technique is especially effective for habitual worriers.”
Good luck!
