Positivity always wins…Always. Gary Vaynerchuk
As we all Muslims observe fast in Ramadan, which means to control the emotions too, and avoid getting angry. Ramadan teaches us to control ourselves rather than fighting over small issues, on road, at homes, or at workplaces. We are fasting, it doesn’t mean that we are superior and all should listen to us.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the best example for us, his behavior with his enemies was even better than our behaviors with the family members during fasting. If we can’t control our emotions than fasting is not going to reward us. We waste our fast if we get angry.
Once a young man approached the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and asked him for some advice. The Prophet ﷺ replied, “Do not become angry,” and he repeated this three times. On another occasion the Prophet ﷺ asked his companions, “Do you know who the strong person is?” His companions replied, “The one who is able to wrestle others down.” The Prophet ﷺ responded, “No, it is the one who is able to control their anger.”
Ramadan is to make Muslim stronger, but by getting angry we waste our fasts and become weaker. Most of the times we don’t want to be angry but the situations force us to show our anger. By repelling this force which pushes us towards anger, we can be successful in both the worlds.
To control our anger, we can follow the right way which is guided by Allah and our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The Qur’an advises that when Satan stirs us up with anger, the best course of action is to seek refuge in God (41:36).
Whenever, we get angry a source of peace can calm us down. So, Quran and its recitation are the best sources of peace in the whole universe. Recite Allah’s name in heart to avoid getting angry and make lives easier.
“Ramadan is indeed another gift of Allah, which gives us opportunity to be optimistic.” _DHS
