The Problem with Steps: How to turn goal setting into goal achievement?
Some years back in a beautiful rainy day, when all of my siblings and cousins were enjoying the rain, I was just looking at them from the window in my bedroom, I could not join them because I was preparing myself for the test in university.
I really wanted to leave everything and enjoy, being of the best students in the class I had to gain full marks in that test, well my mother was sitting next to me, I asked her that when can I get the best job? and how? I want to be successful now, it has been a long time, I have been just studying. My mother smiled and asked me that if you want to go on a rooftop, would you direct step onto the last step on the stairs or will start from the first? I replied: I will start from the first step, my mother said this is your answers, if you want a good job, so first you will just find a job, not a good job, give your 100% become more productive each week, a month , then its compounding effect will guarantee that you will make it the best job for yourself. You will become one of the highest paid people in our society. I got too much, motivated and took my first step. That is true that it was not as smooth as it sounds but yes it was true, today, I am really thankful to Allah for everything I have, I am one of the highest-paid people, I am successful people want to hire me.
Most of the times, we start from 2nd or 3rd step which doesn’t double our productivity but increases the chances of falling down, I have written my success story to make some people understand the importance of the right step. People first need to identify first what do they have a goal or wishes? I want my child to study in an international school, that’s a wish but why do I want my child to study in an international school is a goal. The reasons which motivate you, help to achieve the goals.
Those who build great companies understand that the ultimate throttle on growth for any great company is not markets, or technology, or competition, or product. It is one thing above all others: the ability to get and keep enough of the right decisions.
